Form 8 in Arabic

In this form, a ت (t) is added after the first letter of the root, creating the pattern: اِفْتَعَلَ – يَفْتَعِلُ.

A hamza with kasra (إِ) is added at the beginning of the past tense form to make it pronounceable. This hamza is dropped in the present tense.

Form 8 generally expresses the result or consequence of Form 1 and can also have a reflexive or resultative meaning, similar to Form 7.
