Form 5 in Arabic

In Form 5, the second consonant of the root is doubled, just like in Form 2, and a prefix ت (t) is added to the stem, resulting in the pattern: تَفَعَّلَ – يَتَفَعَّلُ.

In terms of meaning, Form 5 is the reflexive of Form 2, or sometimes resultative, expressing the outcome or internalisation of the action in Form 2.
