This form is easy to recognise because ist- (اِسْتَ) is prefixed, and the first and second root consonants are not separated by a vowel. The pattern for this form is اِسْتَفْعَلَ – يَسْتَفْعِلُ.
Similar to the previous forms, a hamza with kasra is added to the past tense to make it pronounceable, and it is dropped in the present tense.
The meaning of this form can be requestative (to ask for an action) or estimative (to consider or regard something as such), and it can also function as the reflexive of Form 4.
